The CARLI Commercial Products Committee invites you to attend Emerging Issues in E-Resources: Usage Statistics and Streaming Video. This all-day event will be held at the I Hotel in Champaign on March 26, 2019.
Beginning at noon on March 20, 2019, CARLI’s local installation of CONTENTdm and the CARLI Digital Collections website will be migrating to the OCLC-hosted CONTENTdm platform. We expect the migration to be completed by April 10, 2019.
As we previously announced in summer 2018, OCLC has discontinued support for locally-run CONTENTdm servers like CARLI’s. This migration is necessary so that CARLI can continue to receive support and upgrades to our CONTENTdm software.
As it is the season of annual statistics, many of you are likely wrestling with different reporting forms from ACRL, IPEDS, or other organizations. CARLI will soon require some of this data for the Alma migration as well.
In recent years, stat surveys have moved the emphasis from volume counts to title counts. Getting details on just the title level, while also accounting for format and location, can be a challenge in most library collections. Here are some tips on how to incorporate some deduplication into your reports.
The annual online certification process started January 2, 2019. Certification is required of all library system members (including all CARLI libraries) in order to qualify for continuing system services and grants programs from the Illinois State Library. The window for certification will close March 31, 2019. Certify online.
The CARLI office will be closed from Monday, December 24 through Tuesday, January 1. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, January 2.

Ex Libris Alma has been chosen for our next I-Share platform! Alma will replace Voyager and SFX in 2020 for the 91 institutions that are part of CARLI’s I-Share resource sharing system. We look forward to Alma helping CARLI extend and expand the resource sharing and collaborative programs that our consortium has offered our members for almost 40 years.
Please plan to join us on Friday, November 2, 10:00-3:00 pm, at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign for the 2018 CARLI Annual Meeting. The morning meeting will also feature a report from CARLI Senior Director Anne Craig, a presentation from Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe about CARLI Counts, and an I-Share Next Update. In the afternoon CARLI Committees/Task Forces will present their annual projects from FY 2018 with an open discussion of the projects to wrap up our day.
