It was a beautiful sunny spring day on April 20th, 2018, but attendees at the University of Chicago Preservation Department and Oriental Institute Open Houses were happy to spend time underground, within a glass dome, in museum galleries, and in labs. Thirty staff from twenty-seven different CARLI member libraries met at the University of Chicago Joseph Regenstein Library for coffee, donuts, and opening remarks before heading out in smaller groups to tour preservation-related departments in the Regenstein Library and the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library.
The election and appointment process for new members of the CARLI Board of Directors has been completed. Directors elected to 3-year terms beginning July 1, 2018 are: Rebecca Donald (Trinity International University), Frances Whaley (Illinois Valley Community College), and John Pollitz (Southern Illinois University Carbondale).
Directors appointed to one-year terms are: Fred Barnhart (Northern Illinois University), Shannon Wenzel (University of St. Francis), and Micheal Kott (Morton College).
The CARLI E-resources Selection System will be open for FY19 subscription commitments through May 18. If you have any questions about working with the system or the products being offered for FY19 please send a note to CARLI support.
Voting is now open for seats on the CARLI Board of Directors. Each of the CARLI constituencies—Community Colleges; Private Colleges and Universities; and Public Universities—will elect one new Board member for a three-year term (July 1, 2018–June 30, 2021).
Voting will remain open until 5 pm on Friday, May 4, 2018.
Please join us in welcoming 4 new libraries to I-Share.
Each year CARLI has a number of opportunities to serve on various committees. Service on CARLI committees affords individuals a unique opportunity to use their experience and expertise to help shape the future of the consortium and its services. CARLI is now seeking volunteers to serve on nine advisory committees. Volunteers chosen will serve a three-year term, July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021. Faculty and staff members from all CARLI member libraries, with all levels of experience, are encouraged to apply.
CARLI is seeking nominations for candidates to fill seats on the CARLI Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the governing authority of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois.
CARLI Governing Members will elect one Board member from each of three (3) specified constituencies (public universities, community colleges, and private colleges and universities). Candidates receiving the most votes will serve three (3) year terms, July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.
