Mission creep refers to the gradual expansion of a library’s services beyond its original mission. While these new initiatives can often feel like natural extensions of library offerings, they can also divert time and resources away from core priorities. Initiative fatigue happens when the steady introduction of new projects, programs, or changes overwhelms the library's capacity without corresponding increases in staffing or resources.
