I-Share Assigned Reporting Fields

Several of the Analytics subject areas provide space for the consortium and libraries to establish certain fields of data as reportable data. These local parameters help supplement the existing data definitions. By establishing these common definitions, we hope to make analytics reports more portable for all libraries.

Bibliographic Details

The Bibliographic Details shared dimension, which appears in several subject areas, includes 70 tags and subfields by default. Ex Libris provides 10 local parameters as part of the administrative data portion of the dimension. CARLI has identified several tags (Local Param 01-06, 08) as being valuable for all members. CARLI is reserving Local Param 07, 09, & 10 for institutions to assign locally. To request a local parameter, contact CARLI.

Holding Details

Many MARC Holding format fields are already incorporated into the Holding Details dimension of the Physical Items subject area for Analytics. Holding Local Parameters may be assigned for fields not included, or for more specialized uses (e.g., specific subfield). MARC holdings fields that appear as local params will include all subfield values (delimited by '$'), but no indicator values are present.
