Directors Session - Southern Illinois University School of Medicine

Location: Medical Library at SIU Medicine, 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.

Directions. The library is on the 4th floor.  To get to the library, enter through the door across  from the large flagpole and nearest the Rutledge St. entrance to the parking lot (the spot marked on Google Maps for 801 N. Rutledge is the location of the main door). Take the elevator or stairs to the fourth floor. The meeting is in the Dirksen Conference room, which is to the right as you walk in the library. *If using Google Maps, you must enter 801 N. Rutledge, Springfield IL. DO NOT search for SIU SOM Library, as it point to the wrong building.

Parking: The parking lot is to the north and NW of the building. There are a few parking spots designated for visitors. Email CARLI Support by November 17 if you need a parking pass.

These “listening sessions” will be informal 2 hour sessions. The sessions will offer library directors an opportunity to talk about their library’s challenges and successes. Although the gathering is intended to be very informal, here are some questions that might help frame the day:

• Are there opportunities that you see that you can’t take advantage of that maybe CARLI could help you with or leverage for you?
• Are there other opportunities for collaboration that CARLI should be pursuing? 
• Are there best practices in your organization that exemplify collaboration through CARLI that we could share with the rest of the consortium?
• Is there a program/service that you are conducting that could be leveraged at scale?
