The Commercial Products Committee invites you to a series of talks on open access. We want to create a place to informally discuss libraries' work with the publishing models, business models, and management challenges related to open access. The 3 sessions planned will be informative and provide space to discuss your experiences, lack of experience, desire for specific knowledge, and generally a place to chat with fellow library workers on the topic.
The first session will begin with a short presentation providing an overview of the open access landscape in terms of libraries’ relation to open access publishing and business models, challenges, and current trends. Afterwards, an open discussion will be held where folks can ask questions about the presentation and resources shared, as well as participate in a guided discussion about how your library currently engages with open access models. Please come with questions!
Future sessions of this series will cover community college and small libraries' implementation of OA and managing OA content.
