Join Natalie Furlett, Executive Director, Campus Compact Illinois; and Katherine Paterson, Civic Engagement Librarian, Loyola University Chicago Libraries; who will discuss: “CARLI Member Libraries and the 2020 Census: Promoting the Count.”
Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 10-11 a.m.
CARLI members have a crucial role to play in educating our student constituents and the communities we reside in on the importance of Census 2020. Illinois is forecast to lose population in the upcoming census, affecting everything from the number of Illinois representatives in Congress, to local government representation, to the Library Services and Technology Act Grant and Illinois' allotment that is administered by the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State. College students are considered a "Hard to Count" population and their inclusion is essential for a fair and accurate count. Join this webinar to find out how CARLI member libraries can help promote Census 2020 and the participation of our students and communities.
