A WEE Tale 066, from A WEE Tale (Governors State University) in CARLI Digital Collections
And now for a different kind of Presidents’ Day… . First off, I am charmed by this collection's name, which refers to GSU’s first president, William E. Engbretson. (W.E.E., get it?) Originally presented as a slide show at Engbretson’s farewell party, through the magic of technology this tale chronicling his 1969-1976 presidential tenure is now available digitally as a 13-minute video. If you don’t have time to watch the video, you can view the script instead. The collection also includes digitized still images from the presentation.
This image I’ve retitled for myself as “Hippies with Umbrellas.” Seeing the far-out way this duo checks a new building for water leaks, I wouldn’t put it past them to have walked under ladders while inspecting the earlier stages of construction.
WEE, as far as I can tell, lived happily ever after.
