When adding a new, not-I-Share-eligible user group to Alma, either library staff or CARLI staff need to make two configuration changes in Alma.
- With Voyager, we had to opt-in new user groups to make them eligible.
- With Alma, it is opt-out to prevent them from being I-Share eligible.
Steps to opt-out a user group from I-Share:
- To prevent the non-eligible user records from being retrieved by staff at other I-Share libraries:
In Configuration at the Institutional Level> User Management> Collaborative Networks> Restricted Users> add a row for the not-I-Share-eligible user group.
- To hide the I-Share request link in Primo VE from non-eligible users:
In Configuration at the Institutional Level> Fulfillment> Discovery Interface Display Logic > Display Logic Rules> look for the rule that says something like as "For user groups X, Y, Z: Hide service Resource Sharing Request" (where X, Y, and Z are other non-I-Share-eligible user groups at your institution), edit the rule to add in the new not-I-Share-eligible user group.
