In recent times, a spotlight has been placed on how we in the library world do business on a daily basis. Spending time thinking of how we can change our ideas and habits, how we interact with each other, and ways we have exchanges with patrons have led to many changes in workflow and thought processes. Let's go down a few paths into where we were, where we went due to the pandemic, and where we need to go in the future as well as what happens with communications, collaborations, perspectives, and assumptions.
Machelle Keen is the User Services and Facilities Coordinator for Vanderbilt Libraries. She has been working as a library support staff for over 33 years, currently working at the Stevenson Science and Engineering Library. She is the secretary of the Nashville Area Library Alliance (NALA) and creator/co-organizer for the annual NALA conference. Her work passions are lifelong learning and bridging the gap between librarians and support staff for the betterment of our services. Her personal passions are her 3 grandbabies, reading, and crafting. She loves making new friends and developing a network.
