During the Winter 2022 break, Cooper Library at Clemson University experienced flooding after a major pipe burst due to freezing temperatures. This webinar will detail the Library's efforts to maintain student services during this event and keep materials, collections, and employees safe during recovery. Shamella Cromartie and Christopher Cox, Clemson University, will discuss lessons learned and steps they've taken to be better prepared in case of a disaster.
Shamella Cromartie is Associate Dean for Organizational Performance and Inclusion (OPI) at Clemson University Libraries. Shamella supports the success of the Clemson Libraries as an organization and its employees, focusing on organizational development and equity, diversity and inclusion. She leads the OPI division, including assessment, IT infrastructure, learning environments, strategic planning, and communications and marketing.
Christopher Cox is Dean of Libraries at Clemson University and has served in this role since 2018. As Dean, he is dedicated to the collaborative development of a world-class research library that meets the needs of Clemson’s students, faculty, and staff. Prior to coming to Clemson, Cox was Dean of Library Services at the University of Northern Iowa. Cox also served as Dean of Libraries at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
