Information Literacy Instructor - North Park University

The Information Literacy Instructor implements information literacy instruction that enables North Park students to succeed in research tasks in ways that empower them to work with greater skill and confidence. The Instructor position also helps library users navigate library services. Start Date: August 1, 2025

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Information literacy instruction in core curriculum courses
  • Monitor the library’s primary channels of communication (email, chat, etc.) and ensure that all inquiries are responded to promptly and in ways that further the library’s goal of promoting student success
  • Be available for individual student support
  • Participate in administrative and assessment tasks of the Instruction Department
  • Perform other projects as assigned
  • Requirements
  • A graduate degree or substantial progress towards an MLIS. A complete MLIS degree is preferred.
  • Experience providing instruction in a classroom or similar setting
  • Empathy for University students and insight into how design services, spaces and events to contribute to their success
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collegially with people in a variety of departments on campus
  • Ability to master evolving technology including web development software and integrated library automation systems
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and oversee collaborative projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize work in alignment with the service goals of the Library
  • Salary: $20/hr. (20 hours per week)
