  1. Review and approve previous minutes (Feb. 7)
    • Motion to approve - made by Lindsey, Allan second
  2. Ongoing Work updates
    • Local resource types (Andrew)
      • Clean-up still on-going
      • CMC transitioning to another library group so Jessica will follow-up to see where our project is
    • Local fields (Matt/Jessica)
      • No updates at this time
      • Matt and Jessica will be meeting to discuss further
    • Dedup/FRBR (Jessica)
      • Troubleshooting one-off FRBR/Dedup tickets that are coming in
      • May want to consider turning off some keys to help with one-off issues and do testing in sandbox
      • Bible fix seems to be helping
    • Idea Exchange / “Vote stuffing” (Allan)
      • Was not able to work on during the last month
    • Search Ranking / Resource Recommender / Showcase Feature webinar
      • Resource Recommender work
        • Colin - Document everything that’s been added to the Resource Recommender. Shared spreadsheet document containing resources that have been added to COD resource recommender. Black’s Law example: Black’s Law is not easily discoverable in PrimoVE and Colin has been experimenting with ways to present and link. Daily Herald, LinkedIn Learning, and Mango Languages were also provided as examples. Difficulty is in determining keywords to trigger Resource Recommender for each resource and inability to add HTML. Could also link to guide instead of directly to resource to get around HTML issue. Just launched on Feb. 15th, so doesn’t have any good feedback or data, but there is excitement surrounding it. Next stage will include integration of LibGuides and subject specialist contact information.
        • It was requested for Colin to share his tracking document and there may be some benefit as an example for other CARLI libraries looking to set up.
        • It collapses nicely in mobile view.
        • Recommends creating test instance to demo to staff.
        • Andrew - Showed example of spreadsheet for integrating LibGuides.
        • Adding thumbnails can add visual appeal and recognition.
        • Semicolons between tags allow you to upload directly from spreadsheet.
      • Search ranking work
        • Will continue to experiment
      • Laura - IWU is more focused on trying to boost specific groups of sources instead of individual resources, so a discussion of when to use each may be useful.
      • Showcase feature work
        • Discussion on PVE listserv
        • Requires more coding
        • Dynamic, but limited to last 10 resources. But good for “publish it and leave it”
        • Custom collections probably better suited for things like a “new items” list
        • Colin noticed the “Recently Added” filter in Primo, implemented it right away in Filter list
          1. Lindsey thinks they might not have instituted it because it wasn’t grabbing certain materials - e.g. CDI eBooks
          2. Concerns about accuracy
          3. Jessica noted that a lot of institutions didn’t use this because it was broken - e.g. 90 days didn’t really mean 90 days
        • Colin thinks Showcase is the most “trivial” of these Primo features for search results
          1. Allan tried to get the carousel going, and noticed the process to get it working was convoluted, the result was underwhelming
          2. Will mention it in the upcoming webinar, but as the least useful/powerful of the features covered
      • Date/time planning
        • Talking about June 25th as the date. Amy noted the potential conflict with the start of ALA.
        • Amy - CARLI tries to get materials out about webinars 6-5 weeks in advance
        • Tentative date is June 11th. Will finalize the date by the next meeting.
    • Primo Analytics
      • See notes from last meeting
      • Discussion about adding dashboard results for Primo VE searches.
        • Colin notes that they aren’t that useful. Numbers are seemingly dubious. Test searches popping up a lot.
      • Matt notes that some of the results have been interesting. I.e. certain topics coming up a lot.
      • Jessica asks if maybe it’s just the popular search filter being unuseful, perhaps there are other metrics.
        • Lindsey says they have used Primo Analytics to redo their menu options. Looking at number of clicks.
      • Annie points out the Primo VE Become an Expert session on Analytics
      • Matt points out that the data can be useful with contextualization.
      • Allan suggests this would be a good topic for the fall
      • Lindsey has a widget for 0 search results. Can be useful for determining shortcomings of users searches - for example misuse of quotation marks. Ability to bring this back to instruction librarians.
      • Agreement to keep topic open for exploration with an eye on the fall.
  3. New business
  4. Adjourn
    • Andrew moves to adjourn, Allan seconds.
