- Member Announcements:
- Tineka Scalzo (City Colleges of Chicago) Her campus is working on stipends for creating and adapting OER: Reviews = $250; Adopting = $1000 for adopting; and $2000 for creating or adapting.

- Continuing Education
- Understanding and Promoting Open Educational Rsources.
- The OER Course is set for volunteers through May. The Committee needs to decide whether we will be having these courses in the summer, but will defer that conversation for now.
- OER Faculty Workshops
- None are scheduled. The committee will need to determine whether these may be recorded and shared; participants would not have the option to write a review.
- Discussed Abbey Elder’s hour-long workshop; concentrates on different things than CARLI’s (info about citation & public domain; not much on the “why” of OER).
- The committee may want to rethink CARLI workshops or just update and record.
- The committee will discuss if it wants to review the workshop content this summer and revisit the issue of recording.
- OER Office Hours:
- Zero Textbook Cost Programs scheduled from 1:00-2:00PM on March 21, 2023.
- Lauren Kosrow will facilitate; Amber Burtis will take notes. Currently, 10 people are registered.
- CARLI Open Ed week event and website
- Small attendance at “Get to Know the New, Upcoming Illinois SCOERs OER, Program 1.
- 45 registrants for OER in Practice: A Faculty Panel Discussion on March 8, 2023
- There have been a few additions to the OER Aspirations and Takeaways padlet.
- Website review
- Page has been updated. Two questions were raised: 1) should the link for Johns Hopkins Open Course Ware be removed since it is not about OER anymore; and 2) should Open Ed consortium be edited to reflect the name change to OE Global? Committee agreed to delete JH and change to OE Global.
- Illinois Course Materials Survey: Student Perspective
- The survey has been approved by UIUC’s IRB.
- Staff have added the survey to Redcap.
- Subcommittee will provide feedback and will share with committee on March 21st
- Final version of survey will be sent to Governing Members. Members will then have to work with their campus to distribute. CARLI will ask if the IBHE and the Illinois Community College Board could share out, IACRL also will share.
- Illinois Course Materials Survey: Student Perspective subcommittee will meet after this meeting.
- Open Pedagogy Workshop
- Nine peoplare are currently registered for March 31 and 9 for April 25.
- The subcommittee is putting finishing touches on slides.
- OEN Certificate in OER Librarianship Program
- Not everyone who has been accepted has requested support. Elizabeth will follow up.
- Creative Commons Certificate Program
- Seven people requested support; some doing it now (January program), and some in June.
- CARLI staff continuing to promote via the newsletter.
- Illinois SCOERs
- Round 1: Awardees presenting during for Open Ed Week.
- Round 2: Almost all paperwork processed.
- Round 3:
- Applications are now closed.
- Will soon be sent out to the reviewers.
- Upcoming workshops for instructional design, copyright and Creative Commons, and accessibility.
- Workshops on how to use LibreTexts
- LibreTexts allows up to five texts per campus before asked to get an institutional subscription).
- Contact Michele, Nicole or Elizabeth about LibreTexts (subgrantee institutions only since grant paying for membership).
- Third-party ancillaries: Subcommittee has not met to talk about this yet.
- Committee discussed and decided to move its standing meeting to Noon – 1:30 p.m.
