PDA Event: Superheroes Need Super Organization: Planning and Planners for Librarians

Wednesday, April 20, 2022 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Juggling patron programming, reference questions, and other projects? Struggling to get things done? Sounds like a job for some super organization! Our heroes show off how they stay (relatively) organized for work as neurodivergent folks while being pulled in all directions by distractions, deadlines, and difficult patrons.  With planners, project planning tools, and color coding, they organize a multitude of job responsibilities, projects, and programs. After trying out almost every planner system on the market, our heroes will share their knowledge, experience, and examples to help save you time, headaches, and frustration. No one system or setup works for everyone, so learn about different approaches, planner layouts, project pages, and apps to find your next tool to fight back the chaos.

Claire A.  Miller is a reference and instruction librarian at Seminole State College in Florida. Previously, she worked at a variety of colleges and universities across the state in reference, instruction, and cataloging roles. She holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. When not managing projects, helping students, or developing online learning objects, Claire can be found playing board games, reading fiction, or learning a new craft skill.

Cori Large has worked in Academic libraries for over 15 years, and as a librarian for 6 years. She's always had a love of To Do lists, calendars, and anything that make her seem organized. Join her as she goes through various organizational styles and set ups to see if there's something that will work for you.
