    Open Pedagogy Workshop

    CARLI OER Committee invites members to share with their teaching faculty this opportunity to learn more about Open Pedagogy. When you use open pedagogy in your classroom, you are inviting students to be part of the teaching process, participating in the co-creation of knowledge. In this online workshop, you will learn the definition and context of Open Pedagogy, view innovative examples being applied in a variety of subjects and formats, and work with other attendees to create an assignment that you can use in your own class.

    Open Pedagogy Workshop For Librarians

    CARLI OER Committee invites librarians to learn more about Open Pedagogy and sharing information about this with your faculty. Open Pedagogy invites students to be part of the teaching process, participating in the co-creation of knowledge. In this online workshop, you will learn the definition and context of Open Pedagogy and view innovative examples being applied in a variety of subjects and formats.

    Illinois Secretary of State/Illinois State Library OER Grant Program

    Announced in early 2024, this grant opportunity provided for the development of textbooks and ancillaries as open educational resources to ultimately reduce students’ costs and encourage student success. The open license allows all faculty to adapt the materials to meet local needs. This page includes information about the program as well as recordings of the 12 OER Creation Workshops held to help those creating open educational resources.

    CARLI OER Grants Office Hours

    CARLI offers OER Grants Office Hours to answer questions about the Illinois SCOERs and the Illinois State Library OER Grant programs. These are every Wednesday from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., central time. All can be found on the CARLI calendar. No registration is required.

    Illinois SCOERs

    CARLI and the Illinois Support for the Creation of Open Educational Resources (SCOERs) team are pleased to announce a series of workshops related to the creation of OER. These workshops are designed to build expertise in our member libraries in the areas of Instructional Design, Accessibility, Copyright and Creative Commons, and 3D Printing. This training series is made possible through generous funding from FIPSE and the U.S. Department of Education.

    These workshops are open to all CARLI Members and their faculty and staff. Recordings are available from the Illinois SCOERs Workshop page.

    7th Annual Arizona Regional OER Conference

    • February 27-28, 2025 - Free virtual conference. Attendees are invited to discover innovative teaching and learning practices, connect with like-minded educators, and explore how Open Educational Resources (OER) and open pedagogy can enhance student success for all learners. Conference Theme is "Open for Student Success and Closing the Gaps." Registration is available.

    Northeast OER Summit (VIRTUAL)

    • March 3-4, 2025 - Virtual summit. This year’s theme is "All Hands on Deck," which will focus on the essential collaborations between stakeholders that makes Open Education efforts possible. Registration is not yet available.

    6TH Annual Missouri A&OER Conference (virtual)

    • March 6, 2025 - Virtual conference. The theme of this year’s conference will be 'What’s the Blueprint? Collaborative Strategies for OER Success. Registration is not yet available.

    OPen for Student Success Symposium (Virtual)

    • March 7, 2025 - Free virtual symposium from Georgia State University Library has a theme of "Open Education: Fueling Equity in Learning." Registration is not yet available.

    Language OER Conference (VIRTUAL)

    • March 8, 2025 - Free virtual conference from the University of Kansas Open Language Resource Center. The goal of the Language OER Conference is to provide a venue to showcase large-scale language OER and to exchange information on topics related to OER production and adoption. Registration is not yet available.

    Florida OER Summit 2025 (Virtual)

    • May 21-22, 2025 - Free virtual conference open to everyone. The 2025 conference theme is "Engage and Empower: Leveraging OER to Enhance Student Learning." Call for proposals is available. Proposals are due by February 28, 2025. Registration is not yet available.

    Open Education Conference 2025 (Hybrid)

    • October 28-30, 2025 - Hybrid: Both in-person, Denver, Colorado and virtual attendance options available. Registration is not yet available
