CARLI Updates

CARLI is currently seeking volunteers for committees and the new Discovery Task Force and E-Resources Management Task Force. Committee members rolling off the committee are encouraged to volunteer if interested.

The Selection System is still open for FY22 selections and will close Friday, May 7. CARLI staff will begin reaching out to individual libraries that have not yet made selections. Some libraries are having to delay decisions due to budget uncertainty, though there have not been any major trends with cancelations in the Selection System.

Jenny updated the committee on a recent call between representatives of Mary Ann Liebert and CARLI staff.

Elizabeth updated the committee on the ebooks crowd-funding initiative and answered questions related to the consortial ebook program. More formal announcements will be coming soon.

Discussion of library budgets

The committee generally discussed the state of their respective budgets. Committee members reported having budget and staffing cuts, but in some cases, also having grant money that allowed for additional e-resource purchases this year.

Decisions

Minutes from the March 26, 2021 meeting were approved.

Meeting originally scheduled for May 28 rescheduled for June 4.
