Alma Mobile App

What is Alma Mobile? Is it included with the Alma service? What kind of devices are supported?

Alma Mobile is included in the Alma service as a way for library staff to extend Alma functionality away from fixed service points.

It can be installed on supported, internet-enabled devices.

For more information, refer to the Introduction to Alma Mobile page in the Ex Libris Knowledge Center.

What URL do I use for the login?

When you open the app for the first time, you should be taken to a Getting Started page that instructs on entering your institution URL.

For the Environment URL, input:
https://i-share-xxx.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/

where xxx is your three-letter I-Share code in lowercase.

If your institution normally uses single sign-on to connect to Alma, you will need to know the integration code for your authentication method. This may be found in Alma Configuration at General > External Systems > Integration Profiles.

A portion of the Alma integration profiles list, with the bottom row showing a SAML OA integration profile for single sign-on, with integration code "SAML".

Enter the following to use your existing authentication method:

?auth=SAML&idpCode=YOUR_AUTHENTICATION_PROFILE_CODE

For the example from the above image, the full URL should be:

https://i-share-xxx.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/?auth=SAML&idpCode=SAML
