The CARLI Instruction Committee and Public Services Committee together planned a daylong program for library staff exploring and discussing Primo VE. This program was originally planned to be in-person with streaming for some presentations. In March 2020, this program was changed to an online only program.

Amy Maroso from CARLI presented on the accessibility and usability of Primo VE. Her session also included information about the Primo VE roadmap and how Ex Libris updates the software.

Debbie Campbell from CARLI gave a live demonstration on what users will see as they use Primo VE to log in/authenticate in the system, view materials, and borrow materials from I-Share libraries. Length: 39:28
Jessica Bastian from Illinois Central College identified what she and her colleagues are doing to prepare for the upcoming move to Primo VE including creating a communication plan, using a variety of communication channels, previewing Primo VE with their stakeholders, and creating Go Live goals and an elevator speech to share information about the new system.
Niamh McGuigan from Loyola University Chicago shared the importance of what a library calls your discovery service, offering training for your users, and incorporating the new service into library instruction. Length: 45:06

Krista Bowers Sharpe, Western Illinois University, Christina Norton, Bradley University, and Dee Anna Phares, Northern Illinois University shared the collective efforts of the joint subcommittee to address the need libraries will have to provide end-user guides and documentation for Primo VE, particularly in the time immediately following our go-live date.
Learning Outcome: Participants will be able to make appropriate choices when creating Primo VE guides and tutorials for their patrons that are informed by the knowledge that certain formats may be best suited for certain types of assistance and that basic rules of graphical representation are important.
