Decisions

• Past Board Chair Patrick Dawson, Northern Illinois University, has accepted a job as director of the Albin O. Kuhn Library and Gallery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He has resigned as Past-Chair of the CARLI Board. Dennis Krieb, Lewis and Clark Community College, will step in to serve the remainder of Patrick Dawson's term as Chair of the CARLI Finance Committee. 

Announcements

• Former Board member Jane Treadwell is retiring from the University of Illinois Springfield on April 30, 2016.
• The Request for Proposal for I-Share Next has been submitted to the University of Illinois Purchasing Division for review. The Task Force will continue to meet as needed to respond to questions from the Purchasing Office and the State Procurement Officer, and to gather additional details that will be included in the RFP.  
• The Request for Proposal for the Illinois Library Delivery Service has been released.  Vendor responses are due December 17. A decision on the vendor is expected by early March 2016.
• The Calendar Year 2016 E-Resources Selection Cycle ended with a slight increase in total spending from Calendar Year 2015. 
• CARLI E-Resources staff continue to work with several vendors to resolve issues affecting some final contracts for CY16. 
• Member value letters for FY2015 have been mailed. The value letter graphics are available from the member value page on the CARLI web site. We expect to have the graphics available from the CARLI design library before the holiday break.
• The Illinois State Library has been selected as a service hub for the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). The Illinois State Library will share Service Hub responsibilities with the Chicago Public Library, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI), and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 
• There is no final information available about the state budget at this time. CARLI is continuing to operate under the 20% permanent budget reduction that we were asked to model for FY 2016. 
• The Board has drafted an outline for the search process and a revised job description for a new Assistant Vice President/Executive Director of CARLI. The Board will await approval from the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs to proceed with the search process. 

Task Assigned

• TheBoard will work with Dr. Pierre on the process for replacing the Executive Director. 
• CARLI staff will proceed with the development of the design library on the CARLI web site.
