On March 24, CARLI communicated with Tim Collins, Founder/CEO of EBSCO Information Services, and Bar Veinstein, President of Ex Libris Group to express our concern over the lack of seamless data sharing between CARLI’s two largest supported services, Ex Libris Alma/Primo VE and EBSCO Academic Search Complete.

The April 2 event Getting Ready for Primo VE at Joliet Junior College will be held as a streaming event only, with no in-person attendance.
During the Thursday, March 5th Alma/Primo VE Migration Office Hours, CARLI Staff took a step back from some of the product functionality and data migration training so we could look at the "Big Picture" of the Spring calendar: deadlines, freeze dates, and expectations during the next few months.
We are pleased to announce the availability of the Fiscal Year 2021 CARLI Research Funding Program. Approved by the CARLI Board of Directors at their December 2019 meeting, this program provides funding up to $4,999 to CARLI Governing Member Libraries to support staff and faculty with the intention of spurring research and innovation that support the CARLI Strategic Priorities. Proposals will be accepted from both individuals and those working collaboratively with others in their own organization or other CARLI Governing Member Libraries.

In 2020, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois will celebrate 40 years of resource sharing through CARLI and its predecessor organizations. To commemorate and celebrate this important anniversary we are planning a reception during the ALA Annual Conference at the Art Institute of Chicago, in the Chicago Stock Exchange Trading Room on Sunday, June 28 from 4-6 p.m.
In Alma, the Automated Fulfillment Network (AFN) functionality is the analog to Voyager's Universal Borrowing (UB) functionality. Ex Libris staff have finished the initial setup of the AFN for all 91 I-Share libraries, and as discussed during the 1/23 Office Hours, it's time for all I-Share libraries to test both the network setup, and their library's own settings.
We are pleased to announce that CARLI and EBSCO have scheduled a kickoff webinar about Open Athens, for Wednesday, January 29, 2020, from 9:30am-11am CST. No registration is required. Connectivity information for the webinar can be found below and on the CARLI website calendar. This session will be presented by our EBSCO Open Athens project team and will be recorded.
