CARLI is seeking nominations for candidates to fill seats on the CARLI Board of Directors, the governing authority of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois.
The I-Share Next Task Force continues to work on the system specifications that will be included in a Request for Proposal for a library management system to ultimately replace Voyager. After putting out a call for volunteers who have expertise in various functional areas, the Task Force assembled membership rosters for four “Specification Teams” to review the draft specifications and take them to a higher level of detail.
I had a difficult time choosing a single photo from this collection to feature this week because I fell in love with so many. But, finally, I could not tear myself away from these two guys eating lunch. Although the photo was taken over a hundred years ago, it feels as fresh as if it were taken yesterday.
Registration is now open for the following 3 Resource Sharing Open Houses. At each location there will be a work flow tour and discussion period. These events, sponsored by the Resource Sharing Committee, are open to all CARLI members.
Being that historical and archival documents often serve as the source material, it’s no wonder that digital collections tend to be dominated by black and white. As another monotonous, gray winter nears its end, it occurred to me that a little bit of color would be nice--but not too much. At this point in the season, anything more colorful might be optically overstimulating.
