Instruction Committee Meeting: August 19, 2020

Members attending: Dee Anna Phares,Northern Illinois University (co-chair); Christina Norton, Bradley University (co-chair); Tish Hayes, Moraine Valley Community College; Amy Hall, National-Louis University; Annie Armstrong, University of Illinois at Chicago; and 
Joshua Avery, Wheaton College

Members absent: Molly Mansfield, Dominican University and Kristin Allen, Harper College

Staff attending: Denise Green, Debbie Campbell and Emily Wros

Decisions:

• The committee decided that we would come up with some events to address the requests for Primo-focused instruction issues (a workshop, etc.), potentially one in November
• The meeting was adjourned at 2:32PM.

Announcements:

• All in-person meetings canceled for foreseeable future 
• More (online) continuing ed events are in the works - check CARLI calendar for upcoming offerings
• Still waiting for more information regarding what may be required of us re: the annual meeting

Tasks assigned:

• Make a Google Doc to start working on report re: committee charge - to “actively discuss whether the group should continue, cease, combine, or split.”
• Draft a call for proposals re: workshop on Primo-based instruction before next meeting (Dee Anna)
• Ask Bradley’s IRB about needs/consequences of potential cross-institutional research collaboration (Christina)
• Send out email to committee members to start discussing potential themes, continuing ed events (showcase etc.), to start reaching decisions (Christina)
