1. Review and approve previous minutes

  • Dedup/FRBR
    • Andrew has created indication rules to find/filter Bibles in the sandboxes based on data in the MARC 130 field. The next step is to create a set in the NZ sandbox and then run dedup testing.
    • If anyone is interested in working on dedup and FRBR, please reach out to Andrew.
  • Local fields
    • Subcommittee didn’t meet in February, but will meet in March.
  • Local resource types
    • Andrew created shared indication rules that are available to all CARLI institutions. They find materials that are incorrectly coded in the 007 field (and thus would not be caught by our new resource type definitions). Many of these records are incorrect in OCLC.
    • Andrew will be sharing the indication rules with the Technical Services committee to get their input/feedback.
    • Testing is ongoing.
  • Usability best practices
    • Met last week
      • Plan for our next webinar in the Spring
      • Originally planned for April, pushed back a little for more time
      • Amy sent a request for people doing usability testing: others: Heartland, Illinois Wesleyan, Illinois State
    • Compare notes: what changes did we ultimately make
      • See whether the same conclusions and adjustments were made
    • Lindsey, got in touch with Heartland, still touching base with Wesleyan
      • Heartland is in progress
    • You’ve done usability testing, now what
      • Changes we’ve made and what’s next

3. Ex Libris Idea Exchange

  • Some committee members began prioritizing Ideas
    • Lindsey to clean up the list; add date so we can send it out as suggestions
  • Lindsey created a graphic for the “voter drive,” which is in the Google Drive
    • Jessica to provide some minor edits; final version to become available shortly
