Decisions

• Agenda was approved with an addition.
• Minutes of January 17, 2024 approved with corrections.
• The message about the Generative AI survey will be updated to indicate that it will take 6 minutes to complete.
• Generative AI Survey will go out on February 12, reminder on February 27, closing on March 1.
• The introductory text will include: “Your answers will help inform the Public Services Committee on how best to provide information about Generative AI to our CARLI membership.”
• The March meeting will focus on the results of the survey.
• As the committee gets closer to April it can decide what will be in the annual report.

Tasks Assigned

• Minutes taken by Kimberly Shotick.
• Elizabeth Clarage will update the Generative AI survey and messaging to reflect the changes discussed and reflected in decisions above.
• CARLI staff will send the OER survey on February 12, a reminder on February 27, with it closing on March 1.

  • Beth Hultman (Elgin Community College): Instruction Committee will be hosting a CARLI event at Elgin Community College on April 25
  • Kimberly Shotick (Northern Illinois University): The Alebrijes exhibit is at NIU through November: https://niutoday.info/2024/02/05/niu-libraries-presents-alebrijes-exhibit-through-november/
  • Ashley McMullin (DePaul University): DePaul has started the transition of course reserves to Leganto. They hired a new Social Sciences and Scholarly Communications Librarian. They are wrapping up their Illinois SCOERs grant and are considering pursuing the ILS OER grant.
