• Brad will reach out to InterPARES Trust to see if they can present at the AI Symposium on April 15, 2025. He will ask for a confirmation by the end of November. If they cannot, Heidi will look further into putting together a program based on Copyright and AI.

Announcements

• Member Announcements:
  • Bonnie Parr (Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum) – There is an upcoming Lincoln Exhibit. The Gettysburg Address will be on exhibit for two weeks beginning November 15.
  • Gabriel Hamer (Newberry Library) – There is an upcoming immigrant printing exhibit that begins in December, “Making an Impression.”
  • Bradley Wiles (Northern Illinois University) – Their Book Lab is under construction at NIU; more details will be forthcoming.

  • Upcoming workshops:
    • Dec. 11: Succession Planning in the United States
    • Jan. 21: The Power of Appraisal: Selecting Archives
    • Jan. 22: Library Grant Writing Basics: An Overview
    • CARLI Archives Taskforce is planning a digitization workshop for some time between March and May

• Monthly Preservation Topics
  • Committee members are working on upcoming assigned entries.
• Webliography
  • Link updating for resource page is ongoing and suggested changes will be discussed by the group at a later meeting.
• Projects and Programming
  • Table Talk session at the CARLI Annual Meeting was hosted by the staff liaison of the Archives Task Force. Elizabeth will get notes from him and update the committee later.
  • Ask A Preservation Expert program featured several committee members and went very well. Attendees were engaged and stayed for the entire session. The committee will share Q&A with resources generated from this event and a future session will be scheduled.
  • Preservation Survey working group met and were able to get through about half of the questions. They will meet later this month to finish their review and provide an update in December. Everything should be on schedule as proposed.
  • Public Services Committee AI Symposium will be held April 15, 2025. We need to confirm participation by December 9. Agreed to possibility of having someone from InterPARES Trust present.
  • Digital Powrr Workshop will not happen this school year. We may revisit in Fall 2025.
  • IFSI Burn Workshop is still under consideration. We are waiting for dates from the IFSI.
