Decisions

• February minutes are approved.
• Teri resigned from CARLI Preservation Committee with the closing of the Pritzker Military Museum and Library in Chicago.
  • At this point in the year, it is okay if the seat remains vacant.
• Preservation Webliography: No updates on link checking.
• 2023-2024 Committee Project / Continuing Education Programming
  • Heavy Metals in 19th Century Books
  • Webinar on April 30, 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Tonia, Patti, and Shelby will present.
• IFSI Fire Salvage and Recovery in-person workshop in spring
  • IFSI has shared the cost of the program with CARLI.
  • Possible dates from IFSI are May 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, or 9.
  • Will poll committee, looking at May 9.
  • We will need to make plans for the ISFI over email.

Announcements

• CARLI Announcements:
  • Call for committee members will be going out soon.
  • The CARLI Board decided at its March meeting to continue the Archives Task Force for an additional year, and to sunset the Created Content Committee.

Discussion

• Preservation Survey: Bonnie
  • Will follow up in April
• Digital preservation for small institutions with Digital POWRR
  • July 16, 23, and 30 – events on digital preservation and related topics
• Open House at the Newberry Library on hold from 2020. Perhaps coincide with SAA 2023 in Chicago?
• Preparing for large-scale move or renovation project (tabled)
• Perhaps collaborating with Collection Management Committee, weeding and shifting and then adding a preservation angle to this topic?
