- CARLI Announcement:
- There are multiple PDA webinars coming up, including "Navigating Difficult Conversations" (7/25/2023) in the Successful Workplace Communications Series; "Assume Positive Intent"(9/12/2023); and “Giving a Hand Up: Why Mentorship Matters” (10/12/2023).
- Illinois Course Materials Survey: Student Perspectives – CARLI is seeking student input on Open Educational Resources and other affordable course material options.
- The CARLI All Committee Meeting will be held July 18, 2023 at 1 p.m.

- All sections have been checked and corrected/improved as needed.
- Committee’s Annual Report
- The report was submitted to the CARLI Board, who express their appreciation for the committee’s work.
- Future Programming
- Arsenic in rare materials PDA webinar – the group continues to be interested in this, possibly for Spring 2024 when Northwestern and UIUC will have made progress in their research in this area.
- This webinar would focus on what smaller institutions without XRF can do. What do they need to know? How toxic are the books, and how friable are the arsenical pigments?
- An Evaluation of a Rare Book Special Collection: Preparation for a Large-Scale Renovation Project – Preserve This webinar given by Alex Cabada and Leah DiCiesare on June 13, 2023. This is of interest to our members, so CARLI liaisons will reach out to the presenters to see if they will work with the Preservation Committee to offer this webinar as a PDA event.

- The committee will have three new members serving three-year terms starting in FY24:

- Bradley Wiles, Northern Illinois University
- Jade Kastel will continue serving a one-year term.
- The committee selected new co-chairs for FY24:
- Bridget Lerette, Harper College
- Shelby Strommer, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
- The committee was in agreement to hold the first meeting of 2023-24 in person
- CARLI liaisons will reach out to new co-chairs, then send a poll to schedule the first meeting of FY24 in July or August.
- Appreciation was widely shared amongst and for the committee, co-chairs and CARLI liaisons, for a great year of work together.
