CARLI will write a Request for Information (RFI) per the University of Illinois’ Purchasing Department’s requirements to share with potential vendors in planning for the next I-Share system. The RFI document will be released in April and will request replies by the end of May 2014.
Susan Singleton and the CARLI Board have postponed the call for task force members for the next I-Share system.
CARLI expects to hear from Ex Libris before the end of March whether Voyager 9 will be ready. CARLI will decide whether to upgrade to Voyager 9 by April 1, 2014. The upgrade would then take place in June 2014.
More than twelve (12) libraries using VuFind had not customized their feedback link in VuFind to their own libraries. Once this is remedied, there can be a link provided on the Fines page that includes links to individual CARLI libraries to facilitate contact with other libraries to resolve fines issues.
Paige is setting up Salesforce institutional accounts so that member libraries can communicate directly with Ex Libris while keeping CARLI staff in the loop. Please contact Paige with any observations and/or experiences using such accounts.
I-Share Ebook PDA Project: CARLI staff has held a few conference calls with EBL in the past few weeks, and have worked out the display of MARC records. EBL will forward a final list of participating publishers to CARLI. Over 60 libraries have responded to the call to set up EBL authentication. Libraries that wish to participate must work directly with EBL.
April and Edith volunteered to incorporate edits recommended by other committee members and streamline the survey questions by Friday, March 21.
