Decisions:

  • Event planned with NILRC Information Literacy Committee will be a webinar featuring faculty/speakers experienced in successful library partnerships. Tentative date for webinar will be late November/early December.
  • Committee would like to host an Instruction Showcase again and will discuss more at September meeting.

Announcements:

  • Lora Smallman would take minutes.
  • Minutees from the July in-person meeting are posted to the CARLI website.

Tasks assigned:

  • Everyone think about location for Instruction Showcase (to be discussed at next meeting).
  • Chelsea forwarded information about ACRL Information Literacy Best Practices
  • Michelle will compose an email for the instruction list serv related to successful partnerships and invite responses.  Committee will monitor responses to identify potential panelists for webinar
  • Frances W. will give us access to NILRC wiki.

  • Brainstorming with Guests from NILRC Information Literacy Committee: Annual project ideas/events/resources:
    • Articulation
      • Amy & Karen & Frances shared information about what NILRC has done.
    • What can CARLI/NILRC do to encourage faculty engagement?
      • Use blog post (email list post) to feed into an event?
      • Faculty-Librarian collaboration
      • develop ToolKit for working with Faculty/Best practices document

      • Panel of faculty to provide alternative perspective (preferably webinar format)

    • Poll the email list to collect stories/examples of successful partnerships to share on the blog.
