Announcements   

CARLI Updates

• CARLI renewal cycle for CY2024 has closed. Most members moved to JSTOR's new model, but a few have not.
• CARLI FY25 Ebook Program:
  • The FY25 selection system for the ebook program will open later today. The suggested price has increased due to the following:
    • The average price of ebooks has increased
    • CARLI is trying to grow the program
  • Questionsn regarding pricing and/or invoicing dates can be sent to CARLI support.

PRODUCT PROPOSALS

Third Iron - Jenny talked with Third Iron at Charleston, and they may do an informational webinar for members.

Annual Project

• Revamping feedback process of CARLI members on vendors and products:
  • The committee discussed various communication ideas:
    • Would the committee want to be partially embedded in another forum that CARLI already has (like office hours)?
    • CARLI's e-resource contact list is a good way of reaching out to libraries
    • CARLI newsletter
    • Link to survey/other info from the Selection System?
  • Note that pricing is unable to be shared beyond CARLI staff and CPC members
  • Consideration of creating an annual survey to send out to CARLI member libraries. Potential information that could be added to the survey:
    • Type of library
    • Subject background expertise
    • Budget of library
    • How are acquisitions decided upon at each library? Does a subscription resource need to be cancelled for another subscription to be acquired?
    • Whether there is a database that a library is considering finding a replacement for
    • Interest for specific vendors/offers
    • Other ideas can be added to the committee Box note. CPC will then discuss at the December meeting
• Potential project: Trials for new content. CARLI has not been previously involved with this, but the State of Illinois has ended their program.

Decisions

• Minutes from the October 10 meeting were approved.
• The meeting was adjourned at 1:37 p.m.

Tasks Assigned

• All members will review and add questions to the notes file in Box for the CARLI member survey.
