  • There will be a webinar on March 20 at 1 p.m. on EBSCO Experience Manager, EBSCO Admin, and the new EBSCO interface.

Discussion

  •  Weeding Webinar:
    • The committee discussed the volunteers.
    • The committee decided to hold at least two webinars, but may hold two weeding and one shifting to accommodate the volunteers and their different perspectives.
    • A discussion ensued about how to choose who to ask to be panelists.
    • Maybe this becomes a series of Weeding webinars and might be based on when people are available to present. 3-sessions(?) with 3-4 speakers at each?
    • Interesting to include someone from one of CARLI’s research library members.
    • Can we categorize them into ongoing projects vs. we need to weed now?
    • There are more in the “We have time to evaluate” column over those who just need to get it done.
    • Should we be developing a list of questions to ask the presenters such as Criteria, Base Evaluations for weeding, Other considerations?
  • Shifting Webinar:
    • For the Shifting webinar, we probably could include all of those who volunteered to present. Format would be similar, a 2-slide presentation and five minutes per presenter format.
  • Time Frames and Options for the Two Workshops:
    • We need moderators, someone to watch the chat, recording (No), and do we offer this to the Professional Development Alliance.
      • Jackie volunteered to do chat monitoring.
      • Carl Lehnen can moderate a session.
    • Does the PDA need more lead time or not? Probably not.
    • Those with more time to plan their weeding go First; Second group is the other weeding group with less time to plan, and Third group is the Shifters.
    • What is the best way to arrange the speakers? See who is available to present when? Making sure we have everyone who volunteered speaks? We don’t have strong feelings about how we divvy people up.
    • May 3, 10, 17, 31 (all Fridays) and maybe June 7 (time- 10, 11 or 12:00) Jen Masciadrelli will draft a survey and distribute to CMC members on 3/18/2024.
    • Once we have some dates, we can put them on the CARLI calendar as Save the Dates.
    • Share information in the April CARLI Newsletter.
  • Weeding Webpage:
    • Share with webinar attendees once the webpage is ready.
    • Could we share our weeding policies and procedures anonymously? That way we can provide some advice without it being attached to one institution since these are generally internal documents.
    • Maybe put a call out for more polices from the greater CARLI membership, maybe by type of institution. (crowdsourcing)
    • Jen Masciadrelli can talk with Elizabeth Clarage about creating a draft webpage with organizational categories for us to park information. Jen showed some examples.
