Tasks Assigned

• Gretchen Schneider took minutes.
• We will meet in person in July (date to be determined) at Northeastern Illinois University (pending approval).
• Elizabeth and Jen will follow-up with Kimberly and Dan regarding co-chair for next year.
• Elizabeth and Jen will schedule the first meeting of the 2018-2019 Committee with input from the group.
• Kimberly Shotick will take minutes next month.

Decisions

• Minutes from May 2018 meeting were approved.
• In person meeting will be in July. The meeting will be at Northeastern Illinois University.

Announcements

• CARLI Update:
  • The state has a budget.
  • The video of the New VuFind Overview Webinar is now available on CARLI’s website under New VuFind Overview and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
  • There are still a couple spaces open for the IFSI Burn Simulation and Recovery Workshop. The workshop includes presentations by a fire professional and hands on training. It is highly recommended.
• Member Announcements:
  • Loyola University Chicago is hiring for three positions: Metadata librarian, Civil Engagement librarian, and Assessment librarian.
  • Pritzker Military Museum and Library is having a book sale this weekend. On June 26th, Norty Schwartz is coming to discuss his new book Journey: Memoirs of an Air Force Chief of Staff. They also recently participated in the Chicago Memorial Day Parade (pictures are available on their Facebook page).
  • Northeastern Illinois University just hired three new librarians that are starting in July.
  • Oakton Community College has completed the construction outside of the library and are moving forward on the remodeling in the west end of the building.

Discussion

• Gretchen volunteered to remain in her position as co-chair of the committee next year.
• Previously, Kimberly was willing to act as co-chair of the committee next year if no one else was interested or able. This was confirmed via text at the meeting. Dan offered to fill this position if Kimberly was no longer interested. As Kimberly was not at the meeting, the co-chair will be confirmed via email between Kimberly and Dan.
• It was decided to meet in person in July. The date will be determined via email.
• Michelle at Northeastern Illinois University volunteered to host the July in person meeting (pending approval). Dan also offered to host at the College of DuPage. We were also offered the opportunity to meet at the CARLI office in Urbana-Champaign.
• Everyone is to bring their calendars to the in person meeting so that we can set up the rest of the meetings for this fiscal year.
• The CARLI Staff thanked us all for our hard work in the past year.
• We thanked all of our outgoing members - Deb Blecic, co-chair (University of Illinois at Chicago), Teri Embrey (Pritzker Military Museum and Library), and Niamh McGuigan (Loyola University Chicago) - for their amazing service on the committee.

Next Meeting

The meeting will be held in person at Northeastern Illinois University. The date is yet to be determined.
