Governors State University is inviting experienced candidates to apply for the position of Dean, University Library at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The position is a 12-moth appointment and reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Reporting to the Provost, the Dean of the Governors State University (GSU) Library is responsible for providing leadership, innovation and management of the campus library. The Dean will administer the annual budget, supervise the Chair of the Library, along with the faculty librarians, Civil Service staff, and other personnel. The Dean of the Library will collaborate with the deans of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Health and Human Services in support of the institutional mission and goals. The Dean will be expected to guide ongoing and emerging conversations on collection development, services, technology, and assessment of the library's impact on the climate of learning at Governors State University.
