CARLI Digital Collections Featured Image: Dolores Toniati

This photograph of Delores Toniati sitting in tire swing with her back to camera was taken by Wallace Kirkland at the Bowen Country Club; Waukegan; Illinois; U.S.A. (Date 1920s, 1930s ca.) Every summer from 1912 until 1963, children from the steamy and congested streets of Chicago's Near West Side ran and played amidst the wildflowers and trees at the Joseph T. Bowen Country Club.

The photographs in this collection are from a larger collection depicting the Hull-House settlement house. These collections are located in the Special Collections Department of the University of Illinois at Chicago library. Anyone with knowledge about unidentified people, activities, or buildings in these photographs is encourage to contact the Special Collections Department.
