The College of Lake County is seeking an Adjunct Faculty Librarian to provide library reference and instruction for students and collaborate with faculty.
Job Description:
- Understands reference as a teaching space in which to work one on one with students.
- Demonstrates expertise and uses probing questions to effectively conduct the reference interview.
- Guides students through critical thinking, reflection and independent learning.
- Conducts, as assigned, one on one appointments in-person and online employing a creative teaching style that honors the varied cultural backgrounds of our students.
- Promotes awareness of library resources and services to students and faculty.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new digital tools and online platforms as they emerge, ensuring the library’s services remain current and relevant.
- Proficiency in supporting both faculty and students in navigating an increasingly digital library ecosystem, ensuring seamless access to resources and services.
- Exhibits exceptional customer service skills.
Required Qualification (s)
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program.
- Recent relevant coursework or work experience.
- Ability to work at all campus locations (Grayslake, Vernon Hills, Waukegan, Online).
Per Clock Hour Compensation Schedule
- 2024 -2025 - $55.15
- 2025 -2026 - $57.24
- 2025 -2027 - $58.95
