Dear Mary,<br>
<br>
I have found that Bamber Gascoigne's <a
href="http://www.thamesandhudson.com/9780500284803.html"><i>How to
Identify Prints</i></a> is an invaluable resource for
identifying printing processes from all time periods (although 19th
century processes can be particularly difficult to identify). It
would also be worthwhile to invest in a loupe and a handheld 30x
microscope with a light if you plan to identify book illustrations
often.<br>
<br>
Best,<br>
Jessica<br>
